Hurricane Melissa is an active, slow-moving, and intense tropical cyclone in the Caribbean Sea. On Monday, October 27th, it intensified into a major Category 5 hurricane. It has the maximum sustained winds of 160 mph and is located approximately 135 miles (220 km) south-southwest of Kingston, Jamaica, and moving slowly westward at 3 mph towards the country.
