Last year, Israel launched an attack on Iran after Iran retaliated by firing almost 200 ballistic missiles at Israel on October 1st, 2024, which was a response to the killing of Hamas and Hezbollah leaders and an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps general.  Following this attack by Israel, it was expected that Iran would respond again. Since the end of July, there has been an ongoing conflict between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon. Israel assassinated several high-ranking senior officials of Hezbollah, aiming to push Hezbollah into serious retaliation.
